     About the Book

Some people’s lives seem to be pretty stable, but maybe other lives change like hers and as Margarite said, she had been too busy to notice.

 People and events in the news have always fascinated her; they inspired some of the verses she wrote. It was on returning home from the States in1970 she physically collapsed and received Psychic Healing from Gladys Ainsley in Cornwall, England. This caused her to look at situations and emotional responses in a different light and the verse follows the pattern of her life as she grew in understanding.

She found it hard to accept her new direction. Instead she threw herself into her music and painting, and continued drinking, which she did rather a lot of! 

 In time she began to feel more comfortable with this new direction, letting go of trying to be like everyone else and gradually opening up to whom she truly was.

"You may know me as Margarite Batease but I write using the penname of Margarite Westo.  When I first started to write in my late teens my father suggested that I use the name he used for many of his creative pursuits. I so admired my father's creativity I immediately agreed, and have written short stories, poems, music and songs under that name.  "Owl Meets Alien" was my first book."
